PC gaming FPS calculator

Choose your CPU, GPU and display. We model the frame rate you can expect, find your likely bottleneck and suggest settings. Every result is a labeled estimate with a confidence level.

How We Estimate FPS

The estimator is a model, not a lookup table and not a measurement. For each game it estimates two ceilings: how fast your GPU can render at your resolution and preset, and how fast your CPU can feed it frames. The lower of the two (blended smoothly) is the estimate. It then adjusts for VRAM shortage, RAM below what the game likes, and a slower storage drive's effect on 1% lows. Storage does not change average FPS in the model.

Inputs are approximate relative performance indices for each CPU and GPU and per-game parameters. For six games the CPU ceiling is calibrated to published measurements; other games use rough parameters and are labeled Low confidence. Ranges shown are assumed uncertainty bands, not measured intervals. Hardware indices are approximate and some will be off.

We do not run games on your PC, do not measure your actual FPS, and not every hardware combination has been tested. Estimates assume native rendering with no upscaling or frame generation. Real performance depends on drivers, game updates, temperatures, background processes and the scene tested.

Measurements are TechSpot's published CPU review results; the graphics preset was not stated in the text we read, so the model is compared at High. The model matches the calibrated rows by construction. The held-out rows (other CPUs) are the real test.
